I’m trying to cram as many as I can in the small space I have. Also keeping a shade house full of replacements for that inevitable freeze and/or hurricane!

A incredible looking small palm. Got a great deal on it, and it’s done pretty well adjusting. Opened a couple of leaves already. What happened to yours?

Hello Richard and nice to meet you (here everyone is called Richard) I saw that you have been writing in this forum since 2024. I have been following this forum since the early 2000s even though I signed up in 2008
you mean I had about 50 plants of mine I was in the hospital, the chamaedorea were all in pots, and no one watered them, about 40 species, all dead
here is my story (sorry if I'm repetitive)

Nice plantings Richard!

I have a couple of Pseudophoenix sargentii about this size grown from seed that I am considering planting out as well.  Does anyone think it's a bad idea considering its size?  We've had a 27°F low temperature the past 3 winters despite only going that low 3 times in the previous 35 years.  I'm not concerned about the cold when they're larger but not sure about this size and they aren't very fast growing.  At least at this size they're easy to protect if necessary.

Chamaedorea microspadix. To cover an empty and boring-looking space in the sidewalk of my house.

That’s pretty close to my ultimate low in 2022 which was 27-29 depending on where in the yard. I figure they stay small enough for long enough to protect pretty easily. I usually just throw a pop up canopy over that section to keep the frost off plumerias
