I have a dozen 10-15ft tall Areca palms in my yard, currently being water by sprinklers.  By my estimation each tree averages ~15gal of water each week (split b/w 2 waterings). Our area otherwise is pretty dry and doesn't get much rain.  Is this too much or too little water?

By "Areca" do you mean Chrysalidocarpus lutescens or an Areca sp. ?

Pretty well much if you have good drainage it pretty hard to overwater Areca species and as you say you live in a dry climate. About the only time you need to back of the water is in winter unless you’re lucky enough to live in Hawaii.

I have over 300. I do fert regularly but feel they are way under watered. They survive ok. The ones with more water are noticeably larger. I have stalks 8ft tall on some and some barely any wood. Most are 8-15 ft after 4 yrs but it is noticeable the ones with better water.
