I have never seen a palm like this before what is it? It’s like a Queen palm with a super large canopy and large leaf bases. Doesn’t look like a mule right?

You are correct, this is a Queen Palm. It’s just a healthy one and you don’t see too many in Florida looking this good without supplemental fertilizer and water.

Seen one that looked similar , large canopy, robust thick grey trunk with nice rings up almost 30-35 feet. Sadly the top of the tree blew in on itself and basically collapsed in on itself during a major wind and hail storm. It was a big storm, almost all the queens in my area got hurt by it very badly and some have yet to recover.

When they are well fed and cared for, they can be a very beautiful palm. As they are so common however, non palm or even non gardening people, plant them for their hardiness and never know how lovely they can look.

@Palmerr that's a really "robusta" looking Queen!  I see a few around here that look really nice, but most are scraggly and underfertilized.  It could be the "Litoralis" variety, noticeably bigger and more impressive looking.  The picture looks a little bit bluish in the fronds, but that could just be photochop oversaturation.

It almost looks like a Foxtail Palm to me, but might be seeing multiples.
