Mule Palm

Featured Replies

Hello

I saw an older thread that mentioned Mule palms for sale .  I am trying to buy a couple of Mule palms out here in Souther California. I cannot find them even at the Big box stores. Does anyone know where I can buy online and shipped that is not super expensive??    Thankyou

Try Jungle Music Palms. They're located north of San Diego.  I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.  Go to their website and explore.

Oh wow.  I know a lot of PT members who got their palms from jungle music.  Haven't heard anything negative so far. Maybe someone else can chime in.

I have bought a few palms from Phil at Jungle Music. Super nice people and good , healthy palms . Harry

If you don't mind starting from seed contact @Bigfish here on the forums.  Good guy, prodces his own seeds. He ships all over the world.  @Scott W usually has plants for sale, i don't know if he ships to California however.  Honestly I'd check the for sale section right here on the forums and DM some of the sellers, alot of them don't ship but are located in cali You'd have to drive but the savings could be substantial. Good luck

I got seedling mules from Scott last year, they are fully pinnate already and trunking.  They are fast.

The other place most people get them from is Mule Palms of Mississippi.  I'm not sure what you consider to be expensive, but I think they are about a $100 for a smaller one.  I hear its best to actually call them.

Jungle Music just moved.  If you are anywhere near them you will find mule palms and other hybrids there.  From Phil:

"We are excited to welcome you to our new location at 1111 Urania Avenue, Encinitas, CA 92024! While we're still in the process of settling in, we're thrilled to continue bringing you the exotic plants, tropical treasures, and lush greenery that you love."

If you are still looking. Let me know.

Unfortunately I sold out for the season early...

Its the climate here.  This year now that they have some size to them they seem to have slowed down, especially the ones I have put in the ground.  Hopefully that trend reverses.

Wouldn't think the climate difference between Houston and Savannah would be that great??

All 4 of mine went straight into the ground last year and were unprotected, oddly enough the largest one that gets the most sun was the only one to have spear pull since it has no canopy protection but has since bounced back and is still the fastest

I didn't buy a mule from Scott, I bought some Pembanas and a Cycad. But his prices were great and the packaging was impeccable. One of the plants was in one of those fancy high dollar water bottles, and instead of like a Wal Mart grocery bag or something like that, there was an Olive Garden take out bag.

Yeah I thought we may be a bit warmer, but upon checking its pretty darn similar.  The only difference I see is we get more sunshine hours here.
