Ray,

Your photos are great, but where is this garden? Is it public or a private garden, and how big?

It's a public garden about 10 minutes east of Indian Rocks Beach (Pinellas County).  The info link is attached.

Beautiful pictures Ray!  I visited that garden quite a few years ago.  It sure looks like everything is growing nicely there.   Did you see the stand of very tall Archontophoenix cunninghamianas?  The last time I was there they looked great and were loaded with seeds.

Yes I did see those and they were loaded with seeds again.

Nice photos.  And a peice of trivia.  The sounds the limpkin makes are the ones used in many Tarzan movies and other movies that are filmed in "jungles".

Great shots,

Those croton can they survive any frost?

Hello Robbin,

Crotons cannot tolerate frost unless planted under tree canopy.

Nice shots Ray.

The BG in Largo is sort of an undiscovered and unpromoted place. It doesn't have the density of rare plants that Leu Gardens in Orlando has; it's more of a preserved natural area with areas carved out for exotics. I don't know if there are plans to expand the non-native plantings or not. Definitely worth checking out nonetheless.

SoCal and SoFla; zone varies by location.
