I can tell if this is a washingtonia robusta or a filifera since the trunk looks fat in the bottom but looks like it’s going to become very slim or if maybe it’s a hybrid

okay thanks because i really didnt want it to be a filifera and where i live i have never seen such a thin robusta like in my profile picture i have only seen either filibustas or filiferas with very thick trunks and not too tall but there is a new nursery that brings their palm trees from sicily so i think im going to be seeing some robustas finally and thats what makes me question if i should buy one since i really want that certain ''thin tall trunk'' look but i really doubt im going to get that.

As it gets taller , the trunk will appear to get thinner. That looks about how mine looked at that size . They are fast growers so you will know in a few years or so. Mine is about 25 years old and has that thin trunk look from my deck , but when I go down the hill and stand next to it the trunk appears thicker . It is a matter of perception. Thanks for letting me know Harry so this is my neighbours palm tree and im currently in my main home where it gets very chilly in winter we even get some frost so its about a 9a usda hardiness zone and it looks very very healthy and there is also i nursery close by where they sell queen palms and even some king palms, though they keep them indoors and so im thinking of trying to create a little microclimate in my garden since i live in a hill and i can place it in a south facing wall74485054-3FF9-417D-A449-2F63AECE8A72.thumb.jpg.39e5fe205c7be39d24b11543ffdb5560.jpgIMG_7982.thumb.png.132604b1449799d793c571211da37bab.png
