A little bit of winterweather overhere in The Netherlands. Temps will now fast rise to about plus 10 degrees Celsius(50F), so in a couple of hours, it'll be back to "normal"!

You're not alone

Winter has arrived full force here in the US. As predicted, 2 cm of ice across the I64 corridor. Into the southeast, rain is exiting as cold winds push in.

All my tender plants are indoors for the next two weeks.

Snow on the palm fronds is a beautiful sight, one that we never get a chance to see here. Thanks Wimmie, glad to see your posts.

Yuck! Snow. I will never ever in my life find any beauty in that gross white stuff.

It was 77f yesterday and the 65f today . Down to 52 at night . We’ve already seen 46 at my house on the hill, 44f down at the bottom. We had hail up here a couple of years ago , no snow. I was back in Virginia a few years ago visiting relatives for Thanksgiving . It hit 25f as soon as the sun went down and I was freezing . My cousin asked what was wrong. I told him it is too cold . He said “ this isn’t cold!” We came home to nice 70 degree weather, palms happy! Harry

I had never seen snow in my life until I started dating a Canadian woman. Then I got to see snow alright minus 40 in Winnipeg Manitoba. The only palm I saw there was in books trying not to freeze to death indoors looking for something to do reading. I admire your determination to garden in that weather.

That’s all they do there is play musical instruments. The mandolin was my lady’s choice of instruments. You will have to get tickets to the Winnipeg folk festival well worth seeing.

I take it inside when real frosts over several days are forecasted. For the time being, it is in a position sheltered from northern and eastern wind.

Oh it's in a pot! That explains it.

Snow is a nuisance to me in countless respects, period! It is just a necessary evil in the Mediterranean climate, as it can enrich aquifers as no other sort of precipitation. If only it could restrict itself a bit higher up in the mountains and hills...
