What is happening with my Adonia Merrillii??

So I have the Christmas palm tree that is rapidly declining over the last 2 weeks. Is it lethal yellowing? Fungal? Old age? 17 years old now. We live in Costa Rica and all of the other Adonia`s M`s in our neighborhood seem to be doing well. It has pronounced lean to one side at the crown. The older fronds are shedding faster than normal. It has had a regular amount of water and slow release palm nutrient pellets. Is there anything that can be done to help it? It would be a shame to loose it! Gracias,                                                                                                                                                                                        John

Hard to tell, i’m not aware of LY / LB on adonidias. Have you had any recent wind storms?

It doesn't look like LB nor LY. The fruit bracts don't look necrotic. Must be a deficiency.

@seahawks2884 the upper section of trunk looks suspiciously black.  I'd reach up there and squeeze the trunk to see if it is soft and mushy.  I had an Adonidia triple die from apparent Thielaviopsis infection in the upper trunk.  When I squeezed it the trunk almost collapsed in my hand.

Rapid decline is never followed by recovery. Sorry but it’s probably already gone.
