Save the Species Mission to Comoros - success!

Recommended Posts

Posted

Our team from Kew has just reached the end of our 25-day mission to the Comoro Islands, funded through the 2023 IPS Save the Species campaign – a huge *thank you* to each and every one of you who supported us! We have covered a lot of ground and significantly improved our understanding of what is happening there. We hope that we have also increased the chances of survival for the four stunning palms that are endemic to these islands, thanks to the dedication of our partners, especially the University of the Comoros and the National Parks. I will write more in due course, but for now leave you with a taster – Ravenea hildebrandtii and Chrysalidocarpus lanceolatus, clinging on in mountain forest in Anjouan - just.
