In-N-Out Burger in La Puente their signature crossed palms one has a severe split. 
 

i sent an email to corporate however I don’t think it was read or taken seriously

last time I first noticed it was about 5 months ago

If you feel my concern is warranted pls let me know and I will send another email and call a friend who works for corporate to make sure the warning is heard

looking at the picture more after I posted this, the trunk appears bloated with the crack

Keep an eye on the crown . Also check to see if it is starting to lean more by marking it or putting a stake next to it for reference. Just for your information , I have a Syagrus that did that really bad, it’s still fine after many strong wind events . Harry

I had a Livistona with a big lean and it started to blow out from the weight- but my blowout looked a lot different from this. Mine had sections on the underside along the circumference that were cracking in addition to parallel cracks connecting the chunks- so it was more than just one crack. Like if you were going to cut a block of cheese out of a cheese wheel and the wheel was the palm trunk. The fibers kept everything connected though. This could be a pressure issue, but it could just be a split, too. I think corporate replaces them every so many years. I've seen it once around where I live due to height/ age if I recall. I would bet these are now on their "list". '

I can't see a structural failure occurring, honestly, but I'm just a dumb electrician...
