Pigmy palm looks sick

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm not sure what's wrong with my pigmy palm. How much water do they need. I'm not sure if I'm underwatering them. Also I lost one where the middle turned a white color and I was able to pull out the center spear.

I would say more water. If recently planted , a bit of shade cloth . Corona can get hot so keep them wet ( soil) . Phoenix Roebelini are pretty tough palms so it should come back. Harry

They appear to be severely under-watered. Pygmy Date palms are native to wet humid Southeast Asia. In warm weather, they are nearly impossible to over water. Water yours thoroughly several times per week until your rainy season gets up and running. Also there are lots of exposed roots. Get them covered with soil and add a layer of wood mulch to the entire planting area.
