Do these grow in habitat in heavy or sandy soils?  Anybody know?

Share your pics if you're growing one.

bump!

Aculeata grows in heavy clay soils in El Salvador, not sure if this is helpful or not.

I don’t know about in habitat soil. But it seems to be doing great here.
Tropical zone, 300 m altitude, volcanic rich soil, heavy rain all year long.
Seeds germinated fast and seedling now on the same type of soil.

Saw these at the Miami Zoo yesterday. Growing in sandy soil on top of oolite rock.

I wouldn't say fast but definitely fast compared to the other Acrocomia!  There was one here locally in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas that was killed in February 2021 at 22°F.  Not sure of the soil type it was planted in.  Here's my little guy probably going in the ground in a few weeks.
