Hi all, I am unsure about the location I have planted my Mexican fan palm. I have built a planter bed around it to give it as much support and soil around the trunk. I have noticed a slight angulation to it recently.  Any comments or suggestions on if I should intervene or let it be? Should I brace it, pull it back or remove and replant to another location? The last thing I want is for it to topple over. I have read that palms naturlaly straighten over time once the trunk is formed. See photos.

It looks ok to me . Here in SoCal we have ‘em growing in much more precarious situations. Just keep in mind they get super tall very fast! The trunk will probably fill that area soon . Harry

Thanks Harry, yes one of the fastest growing palms, I moved a smaller one recently and boy do they get heavy. Time will tell.

As it gets taller , keep an eye on your retainer . Any signs of weakness , time to move it. If the bed is secure , the palm will be fine . If it is compromised, it could be trouble when it gets 10’ of trunk. Harry
