Kingsport TN Sabal Minor

Hello! While i was on my way to my school in VA I saw a sabal minor (A very large specimen) On my way there. It is a zone 7B 7A 6B area that has seen some very cold temps i might want to try and collect the seed from it as it is planted near a little Mountain Road stop planted in the wild by a person most likely. there may be some seedlings under it so Ima try and get some during Break and i will plant em in Lexington and see how they do.  Anybody know if sabal minor could even grow in that area without any protection in the open (I also saw a very nice 3 ft trunk sago palm unprotected in 7a-7b Appalachia which was really cool. Of course... Lots of Bananas also saw some Yucca Rostrata!!

Hard to judge minimum temps in areas of changing elevations w/o empirical data. I'd still collect seed an scatter it near your KY locale.

I also saw a sabal minor up against a bank wall in prob 7a VA when i visited for Thanksgiving Lots of Southern magnolias LOTS like soooo many No Yucca or bananas sad.
