I need help with my Areca Palm

Featured Replies

Hi! Does anybody know what can cause dropping in areca palm leaves. They are very discolored and dry, but not brown. I have this palm in my care since last year and everything was going great until September of this year. I left the palm in my roommates care and I think she watered too much but I'm not really sure. I used to water it once every week or every other week. Any advice would be appreciated. (It was my aunt's palm but she sadly passed away so I really want to keep this palm alive for as much as possible)IMG-20241014-WA0018.thumb.jpg.93376149975ae3dba10dd6db7f763b40.jpgIMG-20241014-WA0016.thumb.jpg.f0a0c1886fe2308f9635cc039f9bb742.jpgIMG-20241014-WA0017.thumb.jpg.7aa0ef7a842765a9b50b3d8f86a1e162.jpgIMG-20241014-WA0013.thumb.jpg.270a3887ad5d87549f08ea8dd38991a0.jpg

The palm looks overwatered.  It only needs some water once a week (at most).

I don’t think it is gonna make it . That looks pretty bad . Harry

Wish I could help. Think it’s a goner. I have nearly 300 but all outside. Not sure the cause but hope I don’t see it. I will say, I had a couple extras in pots not maintained and they have barely grown and look like crap. The others are near 18ft now with real trunks.

No updates … not a good sign. Harry
