Wow! Those look killer. Well done.

Here’s my largest. Gets too much shade I think cuz it’s a bit stretched. But it’s happy so I’m happy.

Those are looking good! No problems growing in the winters there.

Beautiful Troy! Mine does better in winter than summer. We had a week long late spring heat wave into the 100s (about 39°C ) that burned mine a bit despite being in mostly shade. Photo below is from today. Yours look perfect!

This is another one I don’t have but I can enjoy the ones that are posted here. It looks like they want cool part shade location.  Harry

Harry, they will grow in sun for me too and in my opinion look better. This is the smaller of my two that I planted as a 1G a few years after the larger. It gets blasted with sun all day but is protected to the west a little bit in late afternoon. I like the shape this one is taking on much more than my larger, more shaded plant.  More compact looking for sure.

Good to know as the shady spots are filling in quickly . If I ever come across one I would probably be forced to plant it in a sunny location. Harry

Just few thoughts of mine, I had also several Chamaedorea plants dying and microscope examination revealed rhizoctonia. I would thus recommend a preemptive application of trichoderma fungi.

Arenga engleri loves clay soil but only in the ground.

Keep on posting mate, I love your dare in growing so many Dypsis in a clearly temperate climate. You give me inspiration and courage.

Hi 34 f  am only 400m from the water and virtually frost free cool humid climate.

Here’s my post winter Hedyscepe. Down to -1.3C/29.7F at the lowest and a few nights below freezing. No damage (some burning is from the previous summer’s sun) but it does get a dark mottling to the fronds straight after a freeze which slowly goes away over a couple of weeks. I’m just starting to get a nice canopy extending above the Hedyscepe which will no doubt help in the long run.IMG_2348.thumb.jpeg.6ddd55e0d817bea1bcbbee678d9d3e90.jpeg

That's not bad, my climate is less forgiving.

Yours is a little bigger than ours which isn’t trunking yet, but hopefully soon. It’s not really a fair race with the adjacent Rhopie…

My biggest one had some ice settle on it from a frost back in July. Some green spots appeard but they soon went away. That palm looks good and has a big new spear almost ready to open.

Heres my second largest. It gets some good canopy protection from a nearby Kenta . Just the right amount of sun gets through for one this size.
