The value of real estate is at an all time high in SE Queensland so nursery owners are finding it harder than ever to resist the developers check book. The latest to sell up is Oxley Nursery, which will close sometime in October. I believe the one acre site will be turned into residential housing.

The nursery is currently offering 30-50% off everything so we popped down today to pick up another Hydriastele wendlandiana. Seldom available at this size, I just couldn’t resist.

For those of you that frequent Facebook, I’ve set up a group called “Pommy palms”, where many of the palms I’ve seen since emigrating to Australia have been documented. If you wish to be a member, copy and paste “Pommy palms” into Facebook to view the page and click “Join group”.

Nice score. Shame to lose a good nursery though. Harry

Sounds like a Wayne's World 2 quote. Jim Morrison and the weird naked Indian 🤣. "If you book them, they will come". Loved that movie.

Too bad he couldn't wait until the spring rush had passed.

I'm guessing the developers made him an offer he couldn't refuse, subject to a swift handover.
