Sabal Mexicana (Texas Sabal)

I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue (I think) with my Texas Sabal palm. For some reason, since the beginning of this year the petioles are curling. While the fronds generally look healthy, I'm concerned that the curling indicates a problem, though I can't find any information about it.

I'm also interested to know if anybody here can suggest an approximate amount of water that these palms should get. We have drip irrigation set up, but I've not found any estimate of how much water is needed. Obviously, it's well over 100 and sunny here now, so that may impact the amount needed now, but I'm looking for a rough amount to set the irrigation for in general.

Thank you!

I don't personally see any issue. This is totally normal (and IMO desirable - I love when the fronds become or are recurved).

I would assume this palm is just maturing.

Yep “ Sabal Normal” as far as I can see. The costapalmate frond does this as the palm matures , similar to my Livistona Australis. More deeply divided than Sabal but still heavily curved.

Sabal mexicana flowering. It is still very young and hasn’t got a trunk.
I read on palmpedia that it is not uncommon.

Are you sure it is a Sabal Mexicana? I recall seeing the recurved fronds way more often on Sabal palmetto than on Sabal Mexicana… but as the others have said totally normal not an issue.
