Please could you help with the name of these palm species. I would like to know how tall they grow and if they can stay potted. Thank you.

I finally managed to get hold of the supplier, and indeed they are Christmas palms. Well spotted,  thanks again.

How cold do your winters get? How hot in summer? Average temps?

Adonidias are extremely cold sensitive on the order of coconuts. They need heat (30+C/80+F), high humidity and lots of sun. They are cool sensitive and can die if daily highs remain below 20C/68F. They cannot photosynthesize below 10C/50F even in full sun.

I don't think they'll be dying of cold or lack of sun in Accra, which is about 6 inches north of the equator.

@bookalama Nice to meet you! Welcome to our group!

Christmas palms can get really big really fast.

You might want to move the ones in your planter box right next to your house; they'll get too big in a hurry, I think.

How about giving us a thread in the main forum with a palmy tour of Accra? I, for one, would LOVE to see it!
