It’s time to start potting up my tube stock with spring around the corner I have a lot of palms that need to be potted up this spring and summer so I might as well start with few baueri I germinated a couple of years ago easy to grow once past  the sprout stage definitely looking forward to growing these babies in the garden.

I got a R. Baueri from @DoomsDave when I was down there and planted it a few weeks ago in filtered light . It was labeled Cheesmania , not sure but Dave said it would handle higher temps than the Sapida I lost . It is fairly large , not a seedling , but still not a fast grower. HarryIMG_0336.thumb.jpeg.b1068b3405bbf1c894d221709023bd46.jpegThis was right after I got home . I left it in the shade of the pergola for about a month or so and it straightened right up in the pot and pushed out a healthy spear . I was surprised at how it responded to being left alone with some room to correct. It was a bit floppy and had leaned over , as you see, but in just a few weeks straightened right up and became solid footed!

Nice one @Doomsdave he’s on the right track sounds like he knows his palms well and a quality grower by the looks of that palm the palm obviously enjoys its new home responding well to your cultural techniques eg being left alone a good sized palm like that one will power once in the ground perfect size for planting.

I would say that in my climate Rhopalostylis baueri is the easiest palm to grow and do well, along with Archontophoenix  cunninghamiana. You’ve just got to find the right amount of shade to protect from any hot summer sun that’s all.

Iam confident about them in my garden I have plenty of microclimate possibilities see how they go in the future how’s your greenhouse going all fixed  up.

Still in a partially evacuated scenario until I get another couple of trees down. Then it gets renovated and the evacuees can move back in.

Looking awesome. It’s amazing how they flower with almost no clear trunk.
