I finally received Johannesteijsmannia seeds. What's the best way to germinate them?

I got some of these (magnifica) and had moderate success. I would use a heating mat or other high temp area plus media with high porosity (orchid moss wrung out) moist but not wet. So then you have heat plus low light plus humidity (not too much or you get fungus, but the orchid moss or sphagnum helps deter this). Sit them atop the media maybe 25%-50% submerged in a covered tub of some sort.

That's my latest methods that I've developed and with fresh seed should provide good chances.

Good luck!

That’s a good question I can answer after germinating more than 2000 seeds of Altifrons magnifica and perakensis coco coir perlite mix bottom heating 30 degrees Celsius wet the mixture just enough so when you squeeze it hard in your hand no drops of moisture come out that’s the best moisture content place the seed with the round top up you will see the little dent in the bottom wait until the first leaf appears then tease them out with a bbq fork and repot them with the seed on the surface and place them on bench’s or use the air prune technique I have done many post on how to do all of the above and a short video if you want to look at those post use styrofoam box’s with lids or something similar that blocks out the light a technique called etoliation and good luck there easy just don’t break the roots be gentle but don’t panic there quite tough.
