This  ungrateful little wretch has cursed my existence since my soft and nurturing heart decided to bring it home from the PACSOA show back in2022.  To quote the wonderful Oscar Wilde,  no good deed ever goes unpunished.  Time, money, water, fish emulsion and dare I mention it ? More than a little bit of love. For what ? 2 leaves in 2 years and not yet recovered from last year's cold damage before it went and got some more this year.  A thankless little beast I am sure you agree. The whole world knows what a meticulous record keeper I am and my skills at identifying palms is unrivalled, so you can only imagine how much damage this brute has inflicted upon my gentle soul.  Just before you start to spit at the picture on the screen, in the name of charity, I must beg for a name for this horror,  even the worst criminals need a name for their headstone.

I bought a guppy from you recently but now you've mentioned it, there is a similarity and it doesn't like the cold.  I had it from the Palm Show but somewhere in my addled brain I thought it was a licuala of some kind.

Don't know a thing about the palm, but so impressed when you quote Star Trek. Or was it King Lear? But... "gentle soul?" Are you going a bit far? 🏴‍☠️  But seriously at this point of life, it's hard to stay in love with ungrateful, slow growing palms. Perhaps it will speed up once it feels more established. Always the optimist here...

It looks like an Actinokentia Divaricata that hasn’t gone pinnate yet. Does it throw a red or and hint of a colored leaf?

I think we can blame the Bard for the original speech.  You dare cast aspersions on my gentility ?  Me of gentle birth ? Living in genteel poverty ? Who now has to carry her gentle burden of nobless oblige by giving you the doubt to the real meaning of your question and presume you mean gentle as in tender temperament. Yes I am that also my dear. I have an interrogative for you too .... can you cut a Chihuahua's nails without getting bitten ? I can !

So there !

It's only had a couple of new leaves and I can't say I really noticed anything special but I will keep an eye out for the next one.

Well, you've outdone me for sure with Chihuahua pedicures. I've simply never had the opportunity to attempt it.  🤷‍♀️ Cat claws, yes, but only on a poor old convalescing molly cat, who purred during the procedure.
