The garden is doing well in the cold weather some new plantings are coming through well a couple are feeling the cold but look promising so far but winter is not over yet the last picture is of a satakentia liukiuensis feeling the cold but hasn’t been cooked so far I might put some plastic around it just to help but it was planted as a deep forest tube jus5 to see what would happen and it’s the first winter for it so it’s doing ok once again time will tell.

They look like they will be fine . No casualties or die backs yet. You have some marginally sensitive varieties , hopefully no extreme lows in the forecast. Harry

A unique microclimate with sandstone as thermal mass and black sandy soils has the advantage of warming up a bit extra in winter temperatures at my house are usually around 8 when I get in the car at 6.30 in the morning but at the bottom of the hill 2 degrees but iam sure the rest of garden is around 2to 3 degrees Celsius I have lost a lot of new varieties over the years and some will never go in the ground containers for there days of growing.
