How close to plant windmill plant from my house?

Hello everyone and thank you in advance. I'm having trouble finding a thread called - Advice for purchasing new Trachycarpus Fortunei.

I searched that exact thing and couldn't find it. I'm receiving 2 windmill palms this week, one 5 ft and one 7 ft.

I want to plant them at the corners of my front porch that extends the length of the front of my house. My roof extends a good foot to a foot and a half past my brick porch.

I've seen them planted close enough that the fronds rub against structures. I don't want that to happen.

Can anyone give me advice about how many inches out from the corner of my porch should the center of the hole that I dig be? That way of measuring helps me to be more precise.

Thank you so much!

Do you mean this?  I simply Googled "new Trachycarpus Palmtalk" and this was the second option.  Easier than using the search function here.  Hope this helps!

Windmill palms generally have fronds about 4' so if your overhang is 1.5 feet and you don't want to hit that either you would plant at least 5.5' out or 66 inches as the minimum from structure to center of hole.

I did go there and read it, thank you so much. But I still think that I need advice. I don't want to plant it right up against my home. I'm in 7b now, and the spot is well protected that I have planned for both of them to go. But I would love to know how many inches away should the center of the hole I dig be from where my roof ends, if that makes sense. My roof extends about 13 inches past my porch and I don't want the fronds to touch it at all.

@Allen's advice seems good based on your requirements.  You don't need much room for these.

Petioles and leaves will extend 4-ft radially.  So really, five to six feet from the wall to clear the soffit 10 years from now.

Thank you SeanK, I really appreciate that. I've even been watching videos about it and couldn't find the answer without you all in this group! Whew!
