Hi community!!

I’m having trouble with one of our Canary Island palm tree’s which has started recently browning, pics included. We had another canary island palm to the right of it that we recently lost due to over pruning. Do we think there was a fungus and can it be passed on to a tree close by? Branches would have been touching. How do we save it?!

I'm going to guess RPW - Red Palm Weevil.  Fronds randomly dying in the middle of the canopy I think is a common symptom.  I'm not sure if RPW is up in your area.  If caught early sometimes a systemic (imadicloprid) can kill off the larvae, but sometimes it's fatal if not treated early enough.

Looks like it may be fusarium wilt since the incurable disease shows up as brown fronds on one side of the palm at first. Canary Island Date palms are highly susceptible. The disease is often spread by infected saws and other pruning gear when cutting green fronds off.
