If you go to Madre Selva street in Xochimilco you can find a wide variety of plants ornamental and for consumption.

I got a few mangos from there, avocados and these are the coconut palm trees that I found there.

The one of my past post was also bought at the madre selva market in Xochimilco.

Hola saludos desde la CDMX. Fui a la calle de Madre Selva en Xochimilco y vi estas palmas de coco además de otros frutales y plantas ornamentales. IMG_1934.thumb.jpeg.1a6570eddbadbd9a439b7cc25aea88c8.jpegIMG_1935.thumb.jpeg.43782de378cb05e232bf2a8e5d84d68b.jpegIMG_1937.thumb.jpeg.5e0cdc1ec884ea04a2680f30f52db384.jpegIMG_1936.thumb.jpeg.93497a9dd0fe3dbb7295cb230b3d4734.jpeg

While buying it most vendors don’t know the exact variety, for example if it’s a Panama tall or maypan or Malayan. Some don’t even know that there are varieties with coconut palms, they will tell you “its just a coconut palm that gives coconuts” while others will know only 2 varieties tall or dwarf without knowing the exact name of the variety.

Judging by the location  tall palms are probably Panama tall while the dwarf ones are Malayan.

@Joco Good luck with them regardless.  If they are Panama Tall, they can get to be monsters fairly quickly.  The Maypan often gets huge as well.
