Can windmill palms grow criss-cross, In-N-Out style?

California In-N-Out restaurants feature a pair of Washingtonia robusta palms planted at angles, so they form an 'X' as they grow. I wonder if the same effect can be achieved with Trachys in cooler climates?  The burger chain's expansion into SW WA state, makes this question inevitable...

I think it could, but considering the one in Keizer hasn't done it, I wouldn't be holding my breath.

LOL, the Washys that died here at this Central Texas INO got replaced by S. palmettos, so I think you actually might have a legit chance to see some “X” Trachys if you get an INO up that for north!!! (But you probably won’t get Sweet Tea as a drink option though.)  🤠 770A64E4-34DA-47C5-B23E-113CC59A5BFA.thumb.jpeg.03bed32ef6a4d62912c16036387ae319.jpeg

I don't see any reason why they couldn't do that. Trachies can also be curved. I have seen a nursery somewhere doing this on purpose.
