This is the most  it has ever grown this early . I know it's because I kept the incandescent lights on it with the blankets into April , and I forced it to grow faster . It is almost respectable and it's only April .

I know many have seen this palm , but it is my baby and I have been so impressed with its growth . I say I'm in 7B but I'm actually a few hundred yards into 8A now .

But I'm sure I'll have more 7B temps in the future . Sorry I don't have Shaylen modeling .

Looking good Will :greenthumb:

1.) What was the lowest temperature that you had in your neck of the woods last winter?

2.) Are there any other washies that far north on the east coast, or further north even, that are of the same size or bigger? Or is this probably the biggest known 'northern' one on the east coast?

Dry-summer Oceanic / Warm summer Med (Csb) - 9a

Average annual precipitation - 18.7 inches : Average annual sunshine hours - 1725

You're gonna need a drone to wrap it next winter.

I probably didn't need to protect my Washy last winter because I got to 15F , but I protect it below 15F , so in 10 years I might get below 15F possibly 50-60% of the winters here . Since I protect it , a Washy might be able to grow way further north , depending on how good the protection is . I definitely have the biggest one I've seen here .

Thanks

We have the protection down to a science , so it's getting kind of easy to protect it as long as I can keep finding tall enough ladders .

The ladders are just going to have to get taller and taller .

After that  ?

Very cool! I have seedlings from that same palm thanks to seed from @BeyondTheGarden. I was going to offer you some as the next generation. 😀

Thanks for the offer . Thankfully I saw Knikfar's Washy last year  and he sent me a couple that are ready to plant now .
