How to deal with weed spray damage to European Fan Palm

Recommended Posts

The landscapers in our "maintainance free" townhome, sprayed for weeds in the flowerbeds and it got on my European Fan Palm because of the breezer.  Several fronds, including the stems, have turned brown.  I recognize the damage from other plants that were inadvertently sprayed.  Should I trim the brown/dead stems at the trunk?  Will the plant be OK?  I would say that no more than a quarter of the 4 foot high plant was affected.  Any hopes that the plant will survive.  I have discussed this problem of spraying weeds inches away from thriving plants.

As far as I know from experience, it should survive. The least you can do is rinse the plant off.

Runs some water trough the crown and fronds.

what type of chemical was it? I have used glyphosate/Roundup before and got a little overspray on some palms but they all did well.
