Sabal Palmetto cold hardiness (in containers)

Hey everyone,

I have a ton of 1-3 gallon sabal palmettos in my house and my wife and I are getting a little antsy to put them outside.  Our extended forecast calls for mid 40s-50s during the day and low to mid 30s Fahrenheit during the night.   Just wondering if these will mind coming in and out of frosts for the next couple of weeks.  I know I can wait but am just curious.  Also probably joining IPS soon so I can sell some, there’s so many…

Potted sabals are significantly more vulnerable to cold. Root damage can occur at surprising temperatures.  Recommend patience until overnight temperatures are firmly well above freezing. Consider placing them against a southern wall or other favorable site.

Yea , I would wait as Leelanau suggests. A few weeks can make a huge difference this time of year.
