Where would a Pindo Palm fit comfortably in my yard (dimensions in disc)

I am planning on planting a Pindo Palm right now it was about 18-24” of trunk and is about 5-6 ft in diameter including fronds and about 4-4 1/2 feet tall not including the pot. (Photo is from December and has more fronds now). The options are a circle platform about 4-5’ in diameter in the open and a space that is 6’ by 7’ (NEAR A FENCE!!!). What would be the best option for long-term development?

The trunk on mine is large . I would not plant it too close to that fence , say at least 3’ of clearance. Your neighbor will have fronds on their side of the fence so you may talk to them about it. The Palm doesn’t care , it will grow where you have it . Harry

Expect a mature frond diameter of roughly 12'.  Some are a little bigger, some a little smaller.  But I'd think no more than about 15 feet diameter.  The trunk diameter could easily get to 2-3'.  If you put it near a fence you may have to trim a few fronds early, but that's probably not a big deal.  I have one that's only about 3 feet from the edge of a pathway.  It's been in the ground about 5 years from a plant your size, and is just new getting close to "overhead."  I've just cut fronds off the pathway when they get annoying.

@Merlyn nailed it.  Expect min 12' diameter to 15" and the trunks can get quite thick.  As far away from the fence as possible I would say.

Also consider the sharp “teeth” on the petioles if you have children that will be playing in your yard. If it were kept trimmed up like the picture , probably not too much of a problem. Once it gets over head then the threat goes away. Harry
