This is a palm growing in a very protected area of zone 9a - Gainesville, Fl. This area is more like 9b, maybe even a warm 9b. There is a 30 foot fishtail palm, an 8 foot triangle palm, and many other palms that are by no means rated for 9a. This particular palm I have never been able to figure out and it is perhaps more common in warmer areas so I am hopeful someone might be able to identify it for me. It seems like it should be something obvious and maybe it’s just because it’s young that I can’t figure it out. Anyways, Thanks for any help!

Haha quite possibility. It’s in a heavily trafficked area and the maintenance folks are always blasting through it on riding lawnmowers not realizing the area is loaded with unique plants (for the area, at least).

You might be able to find a thread on this very forum about the planting of most of those rare palms.

My guess is a seashore palm

Actually there was another older forum thread which had the planning, the donations from various collectors and nurserymen, and the planting, but I keep getting rate limited on the search function.
