Hello, what is happening to my Bella palm? It is in a south facing window and I water it every few days usually when the soil dries. I ordered it from houseplantshop . Com

Looks like a pot of Chamaedorea elegans ("Bella" is a dated pointless nickname) a solitary palm that has been artificially clumped. The individual palms will compete until weaker plants die. I always pot mine up one to a pot but you can leave them clumped. Cham elegans is a shade loving palm that does not tolerate sun well. As you say you put the pot in a south-facing window, the palm leaves likely are suffering sunburn.  Move it out of direct sunlight to a north-facing window (but be sure it is not subjected to cold or draughts seeping through the window).

@PalmatierMeg likely knows better than me, but check the undersides of the leaves for spider mites as well.

Definitely agree. Palm could have both.

I wouldn't recommend putting them in a south facing window. They are probably getting fried by the sun. Even here at 51N mine in the ground have to be in deep shade to look good. I once left one in a spot that only got 3 hours of sun a few years ago and it looked like that despite being watered lots, which I had to move. These palms don't need the soil to dry out fast like other palms.

So to fix it I move it to a different spot and water more?

Oh no there are parasites on my palm. The little dots there and there is webs. What should I do now? Fungicide?

You know what I threw the plant out and tomorrow I’ll bag it up and put it in the outside trash it’s sitting on my deck. Supposed to get low 30s temp tonight. Not worth the hassle, I have a bigger Bella palm downstairs. Want to protect that one instead. You could see them swimming in the drip tray 🤢 I hope they aren’t living in my room now but I guess these die if there is no plant

Those are spider mites. They are harmless to people, but not your plants.

A Spider Mite is an insect NOT a Fungus forget about the Fungicide.

The Spider Mites could have been eradicated you didn’t really have to trash the Palm it could have been saved. You might want to take this opportunity to learn how to kill spider mites in case your other C. elegans is also infested with them.

If I were you I would go inspect the underside of the leaflets of your other Palm to see if Spider Mites are trying establish a foothold there as well.

Pyrethrin Insecticidal Sprays made from Chrysanthemum Flowers are a Non-Toxic insecticide that is harmless to humans and usually takes care of Spider Mites with a few treatments.

Chamadorea elegans is so plentiful and cheap that I wouldn't waste my time and money trying to fight spider mites. Deep six the palm and buy another one - just check it out closely. If you feel particularly inspired buy a 4" pot of C. elegans seedlings (30-40 per pot). Separate them then pot them individually. This is a solitary palm and doesn't appreciate being forced to share a pot with its kinfolk.

For what it's worth, as a northerner I've tried this palm many times indoors over the years and been overrun with spider mites every time. I have stopped growing it. 😪🤷
