Conan looks like an Occicat (domestic cat hybrid of Siameese × Abyssinian × American Short Hair).  We have had a few over the years and got our first from a vet in La Habra about 30 years ago.  Where did you get your Barbarian Dave?

I got Conan from a young couple giving him away through Craigs List down in Orange (the City of) back in the summer of 2018. He was a kitten then, got him neutered soon after. Five minutes after I put him in my home office to keep him away from the other then-resident cats, he kinda blitzed it, including knocking a giant stapler into the litter box. Conan the Destroyer. Shifferbrains was for general impulsiveness. He's about five years old now, still frisky, though not as impulsive as before. He likes to mix it up with the other cats, and survived getting rolled by a car (the vet thought).

He's all agog when he gets outside, just walks around.

The last two we had were kitten siblings.   They came home and ate every blind chord within a week.  I had a very nice Chamaedorea adscendens in a pot by the front entryway which kept losing leaves until the growth point was chewed to the point of no return.   Never was able to have any indoor plants with them.  They were indoor only so didn't have to worry about them in my garden.

Conan likes his outdoor jaunts, notwithstanding the efforts of my roommate and I to keep him in. Yesterday he chased off what appeared to be a feral cat (someone let out a loud screech). Canned cat food in the evening generally assures he's in by nightfall. He is smart, agile and cunning, but so are the coyotes. His favorite plant food is the weed grass that pops up here and there. He and the other kitties nibble palm leaves when they get the chance, but grass is the favorite green forage.
