70F out again, wonder if I should be happy or concerned, lol.

Its normal at this point, 70s atleast once a week is the norm here in chicago, and thankfully we didn't get hit by the storms tonight, hopefully nor did others in PalmTalk. 4 people died and around 100-200 people injured from tornadoes in indiana, horrible storm. They said texas was going to get hit bad, looks like indiana had the worst of it. Cool down is coming so get ready and get those potted plants back in.

I moved my potted needles outdoors this week. They did not like being indoors

I've had my potted windmill out since February, took it in once in March, but yeah so warm this year. Already planted cannas and multiple bulbs for 80 degree weather next week!

My trachys will go out soon, when the overnight temps don't threaten

Look's like im behind, a little too early to put the potted chamedorea in the ground but you do you. Weather looks okay for you, mine looks just a bit better so I'll be planting some bananas next week and start the front-yard landscaping next week. I got a hold of a big queen palm so thats probably going in the ground, and if you can get the materials you should try the queen palm or more sensitive palms.

Here is another pic of the whole thing. I stated to decorate around it with some rocks and Sempervivums. The strawberries will probably just fill in the rest soon.

I fear I damaged the roots of one during planting....heard a crunch at one point during firming it in 😱😖

I pulled some roots out from my new planted windmill should be fine. I don't have pics and yes it has been windy and some bad thunderstorms are pulling up later tonight making this day worse.

Is this the 3 year one?  Spray with copper fungicide down there and it has a 50/50 of growing a spear.  Lots of times though needles lose the trunk.  If the fronds on that trunk stay gree much better.  if they all turn brown = 👎

Hopefully i don’t lose the main trunk. Idk that made it decide to spear pull like that. Im pretty sure the other new growth was growing a little bit, and it’s trying to flower so idk whats going on 😭

Looking back at the pic the full spear didn't pull and fronds around it are green so I think it has a good chance of growing by June.  Spray 1 time per week with copper fungicide after any rain or spray one time and dry cover till you see spear moving
