Help needed to ID neglected potted palms

Featured Replies

These poor things have been in a dark corner of a shade house for 2 or 3 years. They were offered to me but they are a clustering species, something I don't want. Although the leaflets are elongated from being in dark conditions, I guessed at them being Caryota mitis, but just being a silly little woman my judgement is usually wrong. What do the more experienced and knowledgeable people from the palm world think they could be. They definitely cluster.

Thanks in advance

Hi peachy that leaf spacing on the larger leaf looks a bit like allagoptera arenaria but the photo well it’s a bit difficult to work with you wanted someone to throw a guess in as to what it may be well that’s my guess 🤪

I was sent those photos by a friend who had hopes of giving them to me, not being aware of my revulsion to clustering palms. However you gave me a memory jolt....Ptychosperma macarthurii are readily available around here and now that my memory cells are kicking in, then that is a very strong possibility.  Thanks Tim.
