T. fortunei does have small thorns along the petiole margins. They're not immediately noticeable but if you rake your hand or arm over them with any force, you'll notice them.

Okay it most likely Fortunei x Wagnerianus then I assume. Yes I can feel some faint thorns.

T. wagnerianus has rather stiff frond leaflets. That feature is coupled with smaller sized fronds. If you have a hybrid, the evidence of that may noy be fully realized until your palm matures to some extent.

What are some signs for Nanital?

I am a little confused About Nova. Is Nova just a Subapecies of Fortunei with blue Fronds on the backSide?

Nainital is from the region in India where these T. fortunei are naturalized.

Nova? Well there's many varying and conflicting ideas about exactly what that is. Plenty of experts and few definitive answers. Personally, I say away from these named varieties because of the ambiguity, hype & increased cost.

You have any experience growing princeps? Are they more sun hardy? Are they slow?
