Screaming Lemurs Update

Featured Replies

Trimming some overgrown accent plants and weeds, I noticed a loose leaf base. A little tug, and I screamed! 😱 An actual ring on the trunk was revealed. Just have to share.  These palms survived toxic gasses from volcanic eruption, as well as the neglect of an absentee gardener.

Well if that doesn't leave your mouth a gape then you don’t really like palms! It surely is a beauty Kim.

Wow that is like if you took Pepto bismol pink and darkened it into perfection.  Another amazing palm I probably can't grow here lol.

Wow wow wow, that is truly fantastic! And great news in general since that seems to be the middle one, which was the tallest one, by far, before the eruption. 😍Really happy that it's doing well. Looking forward to seeing it in person next week! 🙂

What kind of palm is it?

Boy Kim, if that isn’t one of the unforgettable moments in a palm gardener’s life. Even better, it just keeps happening with even more frequency! This is truly one, if not the most, striking palms in the world. One is crazy good, but three? Who needs an oven view.

Nice! I’m guessing that I couldn’t grow that here.

I read a past post that 2 small ones have been growing at Leu Gardens in Orlando. They seemed to be doing fine.

Kim,

a beautiful palm with great colors - thank you very much for sharing!

(This palm is on top of my wishlist but unfortunately rps doesn't ship this species' seeds outside the EU....)

regards

Lars
