Hello there! I'm looking for some maps with ranges of species from genera Phytelephas. I'm doing my course work and my main book is "A monographic study of the subfamily Phytelephantoideae (Arecaceae)" by Barford, but it's 1991. 1) Maybe you know any newer sources with graphic maps or word description of ranges? 2) Maybe you know where to find maps with it? Especially I need it for Phytelephas tenuicaulis, I can't find it anywhere. My current map is below, I need to learn range of tenuicaulis and maybe correct seemannii. Also, if here is some science biologists, could you explain me the difference between seemannii, macrocarpa and schottii? I can't get it even with POWO, like, what is synonim, what is subsp. e.t.c. And you can correct my map and give me advices, i'm open to it :) Thank you very much!

You might try this reference; Field Guide to the Palms of the Americas. The authors are Andrew Henderson, Gloria Galeano, and Rodrigo Bernal.

The guide gives simple maps, descriptions and ranges of Phytelephas species. I used the reference in Ecuador and found it very helpful.

Good luck.
