A question about Jubaeopsis caffra really puzzle me

Featured Replies

Could you please tell me How to distinguish golden petiole form and green petiole form when they're still juveniles?

We bought seeds from rps about three years ago.  Does anyone know what kind of form my pondoland palm is, golden or green?

Hmm. Mine was solid green as a small plant and its petioles gradually got more gold as the palm aged. It took several years as these are really slow as juveniles.

Wow! Yours is stunning.

I've got another question.

There're no golden form and green form, only elder specimens and younger speciemens. The older, and the more sunlight, then the more gold.

Or there are real two forms, but it has to take years that you can get to know which form it is.

Which one is right?

😰Forgive me, please. No one in China has experiences with growing a pondoland palm.  Then I searched on the internet and got totally different conclusions from different people. I'm extremely eager to find out something right.

From what I understand, all Jubaeopsis produce gold stems (petioles) but at varying intensities. Some greenish gold, some orange gold, etcetera. Mine is grown in partial shade.

据我了解,所有的Jubaeopsis都会产生金茎(叶柄),但强度不同。有的是绿金色,有的是橙金色,等等。我的生长在部分阴凉处。

感谢你的分享!
