Mature Sabal Louisiana in Raleigh, NC

I was at Juniper Level Botanic Garden in Raleigh, NC, which is the garden of Plant Delights nursery. I saw a great example of a mature sabal Louisiana that was about 8ft tall. I haven't seen many examples online so I figured I'd share.

Based on the Plant Delights cold hardy palms blog post, I'm thinking this was planted around 1999,

Matt thank you for sharing that is the nicest clearest pic of a trunked Louisiana I have yet to see on the Internet! I have a few seedlings on the way and that pic has me anxiously awaiting their arrival! As I can’t wait to have one of those in my backyard and possibly in my front yard as well! Great pic thank you for capturing it!

That's a nice palm  Matt .

My inflorescences on my Louisiana are shorter than the ones I see in your picture . Mine is full of seed now , and I think I'll save some of the seed for future use .

Plant delights gardens are spectacular. Looked through my pics from when I was there in 2021, took this pic of a Louisiana there, has the same small plant in front. Might be the same one. IMG_3876.thumb.jpeg.0273a50c2449d153029d8a2f2c308506.jpeg

Thanks for sharing! That looks to be the same one. Based on that picture, it seems to be growing trunk pretty fast now.
