Anyone else plant out their B lallementia x queen?  I put this in the ground in February as a small strap leaf. It’s grown extremely fast.

I’m located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in Ocean Springs -9a. Last year I had consecutive nights with temps below freezing. I can expect temps in the mid to low 20s each winter, cold and wet. This is actually Butia X B llementia x queen.  I noticed I failed to put that in the title.

Many of these hybrids are rockets, they grow fast here. In another year this one should take off.

I have one of his Butia x Lytocaryum Weddellanium hybrids that loved being on my patio in Texas. I think it'll love the summers here just as much.

It's slowly pushing a new crown. I probably need to repot it but I'm kinda scared to add any more stress to it. It kinda looks like a sago 😂 I'll take a pic when I go back out there again. 

Mu Butia X B llementia x queen was moved last year, so It’s been settling into its new spot. Temperatures this past weekend were 21°f,  it appears to be ok. I’ll post some pictures when it pushes new leaves.

Full disclosure - last January I left this one outside unprotected in a pot and it saw 9°. It ain't dead but Lord Jesus it doesn't look like it did 3 years ago.

By Saint Fiacre, 9 degrees in a pot, so the root ball must have frozen completely solid. That's amazing she's making a go of it.

Been recovering ever since. Nobody believes me when I tell them what it is anymore 😂 but it ain't dead.

Very nice! I’m growing two of these in San Marcos, TX. They’re still in pots.
