This palm is located in Tampa, FL, zone 10a just a few blocks from the bay. It’s between 10’ and 15’ tall and is starting to seed.  The fruit appears to be yellow and pea size. Thanks for any thoughts you might have and I apologize for the nighttime pictures.

@BillAndy

Not 100% sure, but looks like Thrinax radiata.

Yes, thank you!! I believe you’re correct!

An ice cream shop named Chill Bros on Bay to Bay in S. Tampa. They have a nice courtyard with cocos and other interesting palms. It’s worth stopping by just to see the palms. The ice cream is very good too.

Thanks, I drove past recently but didn’t notice the thatch palm. Lowe’s sometimes has them if you want one.

Off topic- Chill Brothers has some of the best ice cream you will encounter! Palms are pretty good also.

Red Rabbit, on your advice I checked out the Town N Country Lowes and they had a lot of Thrinax Radiata. Thank you!  They only sell them as triples, and I did not intend to do a group planting, so am thinking about separating them. I’m not sure if their roots are entertwined but wondering if you have any experience separating these palms?  Is this a bad idea, or are they relatively resilient and can bounce back from that type of treatment?

Here are a couple of pictures of the new T. Radiatas.

Sorry, I don’t have any experience separating them. I bought mine as a single, probably from the TNC Lowe’s too. That’s a pretty good one and I’ve visited many times over the years.

Nice find. Not something you usually see over on the Gulf coast.
