There are several variatals ( have heard this legit. / not legit " term " used in plant- related conversations a few times in the past ) / varieties..  Some are very sensitive to heat / dry air while others seem to hold up better under those conditions ..As long as they are kept watered, and in shade of course..

...if it is in the same Genus,  yes, it could be casually referred to as a " Boston " Fern  ..or more correctly  ...Nephrolepis.

That said, since the common name ( = Boston Fern ) refers to a specific species, N. exaltata,  applying the term  " Boston Fern "  to the other 29 or so sps in the genus would be inappropriate..  Good reason to refer to plants via their Latin names, as much as possible..

...There are several other Genus of ferns that have fronds with a similar " Sword-like " arrangement as well and no, they couldn't be called " Boston " Ferns..

At least 9 Genus with similar looking fronds i can think of..

Think there are numerous other cultivar,s besides these:

These are also often mistaken for / mis-labeled as N. exaltata / varieties of it.
