Saw palmetto Serenoa repens fruiting in the tropics?

Hi,

I am interested in the saw palmetto, Serenoa repens, and especially in the fruits.

But I wonder if it flowers and sets fruit in the tropics. How far South, or at what latitude does it set fruit? Have you seen it setting fruit or flowering in a tropical country?

Thanks for reading

Great to hear, thanks for the answers! This means that it sets not only fruit between 25° and 32° from the Equator, as in its native range from Florida to South Carolina, but also in Fiji, 16° from the Equator, and in Brazil, 11° from the Equator.

Fiji Jim, which type of Serenoa repens do you have? Would you have a picture to share?

Alberto, does your friend have a website where it is possible to look at the pictures of her saw palmettos?

Thanks again for your replies, really happy to hear that it works.
