Hello guys,

I like W.Robustas most of all, but they are very hard to find here in NJ.

Anyone want to help by sending one to me? :)

Planted palms: Sabal minor, W. Robusta (Mexican Fan Palm, my favourite!), Windmill, Pindo, Needle, European Fan, Sago palm, Saw Palmetto, Pygmy Date palm

Inside during winter: Majesty, Cat palm, Chinese fan palm, Mexican Fan palm

Online nurseries like Jungle Music

Corpus Christi, TX, near salt water, zone 9b/10a! Except when it isn't and everything gets nuked.

Yeah, Jungle Music doesn't have W.Robustas atm.

I got a great 15G one from NorthEasternOhio, but now I want another, smaller one, and NEOhio don't have smaller ones atm.

Thank you @DAVEinMB

Somehow I missed that subforum and also forgot about plantvine.

Plantvines are not very low though... I found an Etsy seller who says they will have 3G robustas for $50 soon (including shipment if I understand correctly).

I'd also want a 7G size, but plantvine's price for it is $190, which seems high to me, so I will continue looking.

Sure, here it is, exactly 4 feet from top of the soil to top of the fronds:

Here the 4 trees are all from them.

From left to right: Needle 15G, W. Robusta 15G, Windmill 7G, Sabal Minor 15G (8-9 ft Majesty Palm in the background).

I have THE best experience with NorthEastOhio and highly recommend them.

Welp you spent a lot of money, good luck with growing them because you never know when your winter becomes a 5b winter.

@ChicagoPalma Why does it seem like your comment is negative?

Sorry wrong approach, but just saying to be careful because I lost my moneys worth of around a 100 bucks spending that much on a 7 gallon. The windmill palm I got was actually bigger than others because it measured 3 ft 6 inches. Also it was the c9 lights what killed it but also saying that because my mom planted some expensive plants considered cold hardy to this area and it died a few years back.

Thank you. Yeah, I spent a lot, was my dream to get a palm garden, and finally I bought a house in NJ (not as far south as I wanted, but much better compared to where I lived anyway). And so now I'm working on making my dream come true.

I read a lot about growing cold hardy palms, also ordered a few books on the subject and subbed to YT channels about growing palms in zones 5 - 7. And willing to invest my time & energy into protecting the palms in winter. So hopefully I will be able to make my palms have a long life.

Why did c9 lights kill the windmill? I assume one of the following?:

- can perhaps do direct burns

- can overheat enclosure if there's no way for air ventilation at all

- can make a palm exit dormancy/winter-mode during cold weather

?
What should I do if I want to use Christmas lights but want to avoid bad experience?

it only dropped to 24-23 F in the palm box, and even Allen himself said the c9 lights burned the spear area because the bulbs were literally touching the spear area and the lights were especially more near the spear area, i had 40 lights in there but i didnt even know if a palm could overheat. @Allen, very sorry to send a notification to you at this time, but since you have more experience and know the whole diagnosis, explain to little tex how it spear pulled. Also i kinda just let the palm die after the spear pull because i sprayed it like at least once a month and i didn't really dilute the hydrogen peroxide and I got the hydrogen peroxide a month after the spear pull because my parents did not want to get it because they were busy.
