Much closer to reality although still a bit understated.  Even the cold fronts are coming through dry.  Not sure how anything SE of the lake has anything resembling a drought.

No hurricanes this year.  No tropical storms.  Without them it’s dry times during the hot times.  Going into the dry season in drought means pain, for the next 9 months.  

Up this way it's been dry for 4 months. Regular rain would maintain the lake level.

 

Everyone here has at least one thread they wish never needed an update.  At this point, this one and the Florida Winter thread are my two.  We did get almost a tenth of an inch of rain as the cold front approached.  Better than nothing, but nowhere near what we need.

The poor get poorer

Hey don't lose focus!  All this cold weather talk made you lose perspective.  Remember, it's still drier than a mother*******.

 

@SubTropicRay It looks like ordering the Braheas, Nannorrhops, and Washintonia filifera seeds was smart at this point.

@SubTropicRay Judging by the temperatures and the lack of rainfall in the forecast, they might as well get the red and brown crayons out before Thanksgiving.

The forecast for more of the same is getting close to long term drought like the west.  Years of it does its own damage too, so I think they need to update that part of drought maps to show it better.  Some people not from here would probably say it's just our dry season, but we all know better.

Well, the forecast was all over calling for at most light rain in the 80s during the day…..  we just got hammered.  It was needed though.  Supposed to drop to the high 50s overnight.  Happy Thanksgiving!

I had gotten so used to getting skunked, there was no anticipation of rain on my part.  We ended up getting ~0.5 inches of rain.  Very thankful on Thanksgiving!

Rain sticks a little better this time of year.  Based on an empty bucket I left outside, we got 3-4 inches at the house here from late afternoon to early evening.  Enough to flood everything for a few hours. 

The Arizona Cardinals visited the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.  Some players were overheard saying things like "we traveled all this way and the weather is the same here as it is at home."  All of you getting unexpected rain suck.

Hopefully this holds true for the Panhandle

.78" of unexpected rain this morning and the largest amount in one event since August.  I'm at a loss for words.  

In the severe drought category here in the Western FL Panhandle. Got 0.90in last night. Not quite the gullywasher that had been predicted (maybe close to 2 inches), but I'll take it. 

I recorded a whopping 0.01in. here.  It made the top of the mulch wet and that's about it.

Here's the percentage of normal rainfall that's fallen over the last 30 days.  If focusing only on the west coast, this might be true for the last 90 days.

The plot thickens

Hope everyone got some decent rain out of this front.  It looks like we'll eclipse 2" here tonight.  It has been needed for a long time.

3 inches of rain from Saturday night through Sunday evening.  That will surely help the local drought index.

Looks like TSP has another shot at rain on Thursday.

Don't stay up waiting for rain. Up my way, probability was around 70%. We actually got just a whisper. Not enough to penetrate the dead lawns. It fell in GA, but mostly south of I20
