Largest Phoenix canariensis in Dublin

Featured Replies

Are there any larger CIDP in Dublin that anyone knows of? I know Dublin isn’t Tresco, but I was very impressed to find a story and a half tall CIDP on Kenilworth Road in Harold’s Cross, Dublin 6/6W (attached). I also spotted a very robust little one on Lombard St west in City Centre (smaller one here attached). I note that compared to last year, two small Canaries right outside Saint Patrick’s Cathedral have nearly doubled in size. I think this winter was a colder 9B in Dublin, but who knows with urban microclimates. If anyone knows of any larger around, do let me know. The amount of smallish but fast growing Canaries around Dublin astonishes me. Thanks for looking 😎.

Palms in Ireland ? , wow! Now I know I have to visit . Mom never told me about that , she loved palms . She was born in Belfast so I’m pretty sure she never got to see them up there. When we moved to Southern California , one of the first things she noticed was the palms....and the extended growing season for her veggie garden! Harry
