Took a little trip to Newport Beach (Couldn't find the coconut!) and took some pictures of the place in general, for those who mighe be interested.

Newport Beach and Corona del Mar ("Crown of the Sea") are two adjoining communities so ritzy you wanna just SCREAM.

I always stay about 2 miles south and a half mile east of that Ferrari dealership at a friends house. You were so close to the coconut! I like your description of the Fe-Dolphins.

Nice pics! I inventoried all these street trees (twice) for the City a few years back when I lived out west.

The "coconut" (I think it's actually a Parajubaea) is on the east (inland) side of Coast Hwy/ W about a block south of Riverside Dr. It's in a little wedge of soil between the sidewalk and a two or three-story building.

SoCal and SoFla; zone varies by location.

Great shots as usual in a very beautiful spot. I have a specific question relating to the African Tulip. When do these tree's bloom in your area and how long does it last? In South Florida, they bloom from December through Feb.

I noticed Newport Beach has a Papa's Liquor. Well Newport Kentucky has a Big Daddy's Drive-Thru Liquor, so there! Don't even need to get out of your car to buy hard liquor.
