Hey everybody.  I've been in San Francisco for the last week.  I didn't know there were so many beautiful palms in San Fran!!  It looks like I've missed quite a bit of excitement around here.

Downtown San Francisco and Palms.  What more can you ask for?

Queen palms can be very attractive when well cared for.  These palms are a good example of that.

San Francisco's climate is fantastic for growing many species of palms, especially the cooler mountain varieties. Just ask Darrold.

Great pics!

Yes, we were very lucky with weather.  Temps were in the mid 70's the entire week.  We only had fog once.

BTW, I just now noticed that this probably belongs in the Travel forum.  My apologies!!

Fellow palmophiles, I am self-employed and semi-retired! :D   My day to day schedule is very flexible.   All are welcome to contact me for a palm tour when in the area.

Just stop by and see Darold's backyard would say it all. Square foot per square foot Darold's garden is paradise.

In addition to Darold's invitation, any visitors are always welcome to come see my palm garden in Walnut Creek.  I live less than an hour away from San Francisco, either by car or BART. (Bay Area Rapid Transit) In the summer months if it's cold and foggy in SF, it could be hot and sunny, and 40 F degrees warmer at my place. The two locations are a great demonstration of the many micro-climates we have in the Bay Area. Some of the palms grown in San Francisco wouldn't stand a chance of growing here, and vice versa.
